Preparing for Exams: What You Need to Know to Successfully Graduate From High School

The state examination tests the knowledge a student has acquired during his or her studies. It is just like an ordinary exam, only it covers a wide range of topics from different fields.

And it is taken in front of a commission of several teachers.

Also, unlike the standard exam, the state exam is retaken only once and only after one year. So you do not have to waste a year, you need to seriously approach the preparation.

It is too risky to come to the examinations thinking “I did not study anything, but I will pass it somehow”.

Preparing for the state exams should begin well in advance so that the student can successfully graduate.

Even if you’ve forgotten material from previous courses or missed a lot, fruitful and persistent preparation for the state exam will help you to pass the exam with “excellent”.

Study Materials

If you don’t have the notes you need, use essay writing help or ask other students for them. For example, you can ask first-year students for first-year materials.

If you don’t have enough notes, literature can help. Often teachers give you a reading list that includes everything you need to prepare for your final exams.

Also talk to your professors, who have taught you: they can tell you where to look for answers to individual questions.

Time

The earlier you start preparing, the better. Immediately establish how long it will take you to prepare for the exam.

Determine how many days you have to prepare and divide the questions by the number of days, leaving one day to spare.

On this day, you will repeat what you’ve learned and tuned in to the exam.

Go through the list of questions and find the ones you know well. Study them first. You can learn the easy ones several times a day, which means you save time.

To save even more time, team up with your classmates. Distribute the questions amongst yourselves, and have them each prepares detailed and understandable answers to share with the others.

It is important to leave time to memorize these tickets: since you did not write the answer to this ticket, it will be harder to learn it.

Take time to rest, and teach in small increments of 30 minutes. Your memory can’t work for eight hours straight, so give your brain time to absorb what you’ve learned.

Do not try to save time by ignoring 5-10 questions. By the law of meanness, you will get exactly those. If you know on the doorstep of the office that you can’t answer a few questions, it will undermine your confidence.

Systematize

Don’t be lazy to write outlines, and those outlines are converted into brief plans, charts, tables, sets of definitions, and infographics.

You need to actively run the text through yourself: read it aloud, retell it from memory, write out the main information.

It is proved that the text written by hand is remembered better than typing on the keyboard.

That’s why cheat sheets are so effective: while you are writing a cheat sheet, studying and memorizing the text, you choose the most important things and retell them in your own words. That’s how it’s all remembered.

Memorizing

By the way, our memory is based on associations. That’s why it’s so useful to rhyme terms, to juxtapose items of the plan with vivid images, to compare – in short, to create “triggers” that will trigger memories.

The more vivid and unusual the image, the easier it is to remember.

Practice interval memorization. Don’t rote, but repeat the material over time.

For example, repeat the material 20 minutes after the first reading, then an hour later, eight hours later, the next day, and so on.

Go back over and over again: that way you won’t forget what you learned in the beginning.

Another way: find someone who doesn’t know the subject, and explain the ticket you learned to them.

If you can explain the ticket so that the person who is not familiar with the subject understands it, you have a great grasp of it.

Plus, during the explanation, you’ll understand what points you need to tweak.

Mental attitude

If the preparation for the exam was measured, you worked through ticket by ticket, systematized the material, and memorized it effectively, there is nothing to be afraid of.

Excitement can ruin everything: out of fear you will be confused, panic, and forget what you studied. Do not wind yourself up – you have done everything to pass the exams successfully.

Try not to overburden yourself on the last day. Moreover, do not sit at your books on the last night – lack of sleep has a negative impact on the memory.

Before the exams, you need a boost of energy. So, come on, let’s go for a walk!

Little tips on how to decide on a job specialty

What Factors Should I Consider When Applying?

Interests, talents, and aptitudes

If you have never been good at algebra and geometry your whole life, studying to be an engineer will be extremely difficult. Ideally, you should take your favorite and interesting subjects on the EXAMS.

The choice of field depends on your talents and aptitudes.

Cities and Universities

Decide if you are staying in your city or if you are ready to move. People make the decision to move based a lot on their family situation. Talk to your parents about it beforehand.

Budget or Commerce

One more question related to finances. If you are planning to apply for credit, you will need to consider an additional factor when choosing a university: the passing score of the previous year.

It will tell you if you have a chance to get on a budget, or better to look for higher education, which is less competitive.

If you can move to any city and study commercially at any university, look at the ratings of the strongest universities.

The cost of living in another city varies greatly, depending on whether you are a full-time or part-time student. Most colleges and universities restrict eligibility for dormitory admission to non-profit students.

Those who study on a paying basis will probably have to look for an apartment. You can rent alone or with roommates.

Specialty

If you want to get a certain rare profession, the choice of city is not in front of you. Something really rare is usually in two or three cities around the country.

Still, the key factor in choosing a university – the specialty. Look for what areas of training you can enter with your favorite subjects – this will be the best option.

Many people think that the specialty in the university does not matter at all – the main thing is to have a diploma in higher education. This is not true.

Specialties differ from each other for a reason – they often have very important, specific subjects. Because of these differences, you simply may not be able to get an interesting job.

Moreover, the study in college lasts at least four years – do you want to regularly attend classes that you do not really care about?

What You Definitely Shouldn’t Do?

Don’t Take Exams in Bulk

11th grade is already quite stressful. It will be more productive if you choose only the subjects you need and devote the maximum amount of time to them.

Don’t spread yourself thin – you’ll get better results.

To avoid wasting time on unnecessary exams, it is worth choosing several specialties in specific universities in advance: check the website of the university, which subjects are needed in your case, then you do not have to take the EXAMS in bulk.

Do Not Try to Choose “Easy” Exams

There are two problems with this approach. First, there are no “easy” exams on the EXAMS – if a subject seems easy to you, it means you studied it well in school.

Secondly, you run the risk of spending four years in an uninteresting or unclaimed field of study.

The question “where to go to study?” only seems complicated. Think about what you want to work on, what areas you like to study.

Conclusions

Discuss with your parents about moving and paying tuition. Determine all the important criteria and choose a major based on them.

It’s okay if you don’t find the perfect school and major right away: look for compromises. There are many ways to get to your dream job. Think of enrollment as the first step.
