There is a common misconception among students that only those who are studying literature or other humane subjects need to read a lot of books and studies.

Student Literature for Business College

But the universe of literature is a vast one and you can find books on many subjects you might be interested in, such as business. There are many book genres you can choose from, from historical fiction to self-development ones.

And business books are exactly in this genre: self-development. Many of them were written by successful people that want to share their recipe for success with students and people from all over the world.

As a student, you can have access to some of the best business books, but also some interesting ideas and perspectives that could fuel and boost your inspiration and motivation.

So, if you are getting an education in college and want to learn about business success stories, then you should know that there are a lot of books to choose from.

We have carefully selected a few of them you will find below.

Books about Rosa Parks

Many students who study in college have not heard about Rosa Parks, the mother of civil rights. We all know social inequality was something that characterized quite a few years, and it is still very present in our societies.

However, Rosa Parks is known for her role in the Montgomery Bus boycott. She refused to give up her bus seat to a white man and then, a boycott and revolution started.

In 1992, Rosa Parks published a book called Rosa Parks: My Story, a must-read book by every business college student. Even though it may seem that it is not related to business in any way, this book is the testimony of Rosa Parks, the one that added another brick to the freedom of Black people, in a time when they were considered slaves and inferior. You might be asked to write about the story of Rosa Parks, such as a rosa parks essay. If you need a rosa parks essay introduction, you can view and download essays about Rosa Parks. Like this, you will find out more about her perspective on what happened and the birth of the movement, but also get some ideas on how to start a change. And you can apply this knowledge to the business domain.

How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie

Dale Carnegie and his book How to Win Friends and Influence People is one of the most well-known book writers of all time. Especially because its book is like a guide for leaders.

In the business domain, where you might want to innovate and gather a team to work with, knowing how to lead a team is essential.

Dale Carnegie was a professor at YMCA and saw the need for a soft-skills book that will teach students essential skills for any domain, but especially the business one.

He has read hundreds of biographies and identified the elements that lead a businessman to success. So, it is a must-read for every business student.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Dr. Stephen Covey

Have you ever wondered which are the habits common to most successful people? Is there something different or special successful businessmen do to achieve their goals? Well, you will find the answers to these questions in the book.

Dr. Stephen Covey was an American educator who thought that change begins inside each of us.

Every human is a collection of many habits that define them, for example, the knowledge they have, skills, and desire. So, how can you become more effective?

Dr. Stephen Covey has identified seven habits you can change. Trying to first understand and then be understood is one of them. Read the book to discover the other six.

The Lean Startup by Eric Ries

Eric Ries is an entrepreneur and blogger who tried to define the lean startup movement. In 2020, there were over 1600 startups only in the tech domain, and their global number is constantly increasing.

Many business students want to find out more about founding a startup, finding clients, and hiring employees.

Eric Ries, in his book The Lean Startup, offers some guidelines on how to do this. Moreover, he sheds more light on the idea of startups, but also on how to solve some of the most pressing issues that might appear (such as a change of vision).

He supports his view and perspective with real-life examples or scenarios, so it is a book business students can learn a lot from.

Zero to One by Peter Thiel

Peter Thiel is a German-American entrepreneur and a venture capitalist. His book Zero to One describes how to take a startup or business from zero to one, based on the lessons he learned while he was a student.

And not only, because Peter Thiel has many successful businesses, this book is also based on the lessons he learned in his career.

And his portfolio is quite impressive. He is one of the co-founders of PayPal, Palantir Technologies, Clarium Capital, and many other startups and businesses. So, if you want to learn from the best, this is one of the books you, as a business student, must add to your reading list.

Ending Note

If you enter a library, you will be amazed by the number of books that were written. From every book, you could learn something, but as a business student, you surely want to find out more about this domain.

These are just some of the books that could help you learn more about startups and how to lead people.

You can also learn more about how to found a business, how to gather a team, and many other tips and tricks. But because knowing this is not the only information you need to have, learning how to have effective habits is also essential.

Hopefully, these stories of success will give you a head start in this domain.
